That's right, Alex went running off into his classroom and began to check out everything in the room from the kitchen area and fake fish tanks to the crayons and markers which he couldn't wait to get into. He also took a quick break and sat in his cubbie to let mom take his picture. Look at those big eyes & smiles. I still can't believe that my little boy or should I say, my little man has grown up and now goes to school.
After just an hour, his 1st day of school was over. Out of the classroom door came an excited and energetic little man. And then, the stories about his day began. Here are just a few of the things Alex told me about so far: "I got to use the colored crayons to color a paper crab!" "I meeted some new friends today." (Yes, he understands past tense but not how the English language works quite yet). "I played in the kitchen set area for just a little bit since one of my new friends didn't want to share." "Aiden is one of my new friends." It seems he doesn't remember anyone else's name from today. Maybe Friday will be another great day. Now that he's happy with his new school, mom can relax and enjoy at least 3 hours to herself every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Another chapter in the Motyka family's lives continue. We'll keep you updated.

Congratulations on surviving, what will be, one of many firsts for school!! I hate to say, it doesn't get any easier as they grow up. For us this year, it was Curtis going into Junior High School (remember when he was an adorable 3 year old) and Connor going into 4th grade at a school that is ten times the size of my house!!! Hang in there...you will do great!! Enjoy those precious hours for yourself....and take care!!!
